Life is in the Journey, Not the Destination

Funny story from my weekend trip to Mysore. About mid-afternoon, we're motoring along and the driver slows down... and then stops. I can't figure out why - we're in the middle of nowhere. And he says - "A cow. You've been taking pictures of all the cows, so I thought I'd let you snap this one, too." Which just goes to prove -- you can take a girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. In the spirit of sharing my journey, thought I'd share a few of the candids that I took that weren't part of the "main story"... These represent some of my favorite pictures, though they had nothing to do with palaces, temples, or magnificent history.

I love your comment about not being able to take the country out of the girl. Only you could appreciate my comment to a group of "citified" young married couples recently..."At age 10, I helped a cow give birth"... This after I had just come from the office, where I, too, am "citified". Hope you are having a blast!

I love these pictures, they really bring the trip to life. And for the record, I may live in an agricultural area, but I'm pretty citified. I have NEVER seen a cow give birth! ;-D

Amazing pictures! What an exciting trip and I do hope you are exhausting yourself in retail therapy. You are just throwing us off with cow pics! Godspeed!
